Imagine you’ve just sat down opposite your speed date. The first thing they ask you is “Nikon or Cannon?” To which you reply “What?” feeling some what startled by the abruptness. The person turns around and shouts “Next!” to someone you can’t make out in the distance.

This sounds ridiculous but it is how many in education approach discussions with colleagues about technology.

Don’t bother replying “Fuji” or name models of Nikon or Cannon to clarify or sound impressive … you have been just been given the speakers entire world view and you blew it.
